LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A father was injured and a son was killed following a fight between the two that happened on Monday night.

Around 9 p.m., Lawrence County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of County Road 214 in the Langtown Community.

Upon arrival, deputies found a 40-year-old man dead in the front yard of the home.

LCSO said that deputies also found an 85-year-old man who had received significant injuries from an alleged assault.

The 85-year-old man was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

According to the sheriff's office, a preliminary investigation indicated that the 40-year-old man who was killed was the son of the injured man.
