Named after Montana State University’s famous fight song “Stand Up and Cheer,” The VIM — a privately owned and operated hotel — was officially unveiled during a groundbreaking ceremony in MSU’s south campus district Friday morning.

The five-story hotel project aims to provide educational opportunities for MSU students, strengthen existing hospitality programs and drive economic growth, said Sam Byrne, co-founder and managing partner of CrossHarbor Capital Partners — the parent company of Lone Mountain Land Co., which was selected to develop the hotel.
