CALHOUN FALLS, S.C. —
Calhoun Falls Mayor Terrico Holland told WYFF 4 that he will be a write-in for the mayoral election in November, and he said, "I will win."
On top of this new detail from the mayor, the acting town clerk, Stephanie McElrath, revealed a financial report during Monday's council meeting. Calhoun Falls residents also learned more about what led to former police chief Tim Richey resigning.
Richey resigned last week. According to his wife, Linda Richey, he left due to rumors that if Town Councilman Viggo Lassen became mayor, he would be fired. During the meeting, Lassen shared allegations about Richey's past with the Calhoun Falls Police Department in 2007.
"He was fired because he throwed his wife through the window," Lassen said.
