BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (WNDU) - A 15-year-old boy has died from his injuries in a shooting last week in Benton Harbor, and a 20-year-old man is facing charges in his death.

Police say it happened last Wednesday afternoon in the 1000 block of Buss Avenue.

The 15-year-old was taken to a local hospital but later transferred to a hospital in Kalamazoo for advanced treatment.

According to police, the boy died from his injuries on Saturday morning. Police say they are not identifying him due to his age.

Police say a 20-year-old man was detained as a person of interest in the shooting. He was later booked into the Berrien County Jail for carrying a concealed weapon, but he’s now facing charges of open murder and assault with intent to murder after the boy died. His name is being withheld until
