HURRICANE GABRIELLE:

Gabrielle remains a powerful category 4 hurricane in the central Atlantic, with maximum sustained winds near 140 mph with higher gusts. The storm is moving northeast at about 13 mph and is expected to hold major hurricane stregnth through midweek. Forecast guidance keeps Gabrielle tracking away from Bermuda and well east of the U.S. coastline, steering into the open northern Atlantic. Swells generated by the storm will still reach land, creating hazardous marine and coastal conditions.
