Front Row Filmed Entertainment has acquired all Middle East and North Africa rights, excluding theatrical exhibition in Egypt , for drama The Tale of Daye’s Family , in a deal struck with Saudi Arabia ’s Big Time Fund .

The film world premiered as the opening film of Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea International Film Festival in December 2024, and then also played at the Berlinale. It is directed by Egyptian director Karim El-Shenawy from a screenplay by Haitham Dabbour.

It follows Daye, an 11-year-old albino Nubian boy from southern Egypt who dreams of becoming a singer like his idol Mohamed Mounir. Accompanied by his mother, sister, and a devoted music teacher, he travels to Cairo, confronting bullying, prejudice, and the courage it takes to be seen and heard.
