The Maryland Air National Guard will host an inactivation ceremony Tuesday afternoon for the A-10 and the A-10C Thunderbolt II flying mission.

The ceremony will be held at the Warfield Air National Guard Base at Martin State Airport in Middle River. Maryland Gov. Wes Moore will be in attendance for the ceremony.

In March 2024, the U.S. Air Force announced a plan for the Maryland Air National Guard to divest all the A-10s assigned to the 104th Fighter Squadron by the end of the fiscal year 2025.

The last two A-10s will depart next week as part of the United States Air Force divestment. They will be transferred to the Michigan Air National Guard.

The ceremony is scheduled to take place at 1 p.m.
