The Mustang Police Department released video on Monday showing the actions that led to charges being filed against a former police officer. The former officer was seen on camera hitting a man in handcuffs.

The video was given to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations when the agency took over the investigation. The evidence led to one assault and battery charge filed against former officer Michael Bobbitt.

Mustang Police Chief Michael Wallace said Bobbitt's last day with the department was August 14th, 2024, one month after agents at the OSBI handed over their investigation to the Canadian County District Attorney's Office.

The newly released video is from last May when Bobbitt and another officer were watching a man arrested for public intoxication.
