WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A West Springfield man was sentenced in connection with the brutal killing of a pet rabbit last November.

The Westfield Police Department stated that during a party held the day before Thanksgiving, November 27th, in Westfield, two individuals were suspected of brutally killing a pet rabbit during a party. Police say that parts of the incident were captured on video, and the suspects slammed the rabbit on the ground and threw it outside.

During the investigation, the two suspects were identified as Alexey Dimoglo of West Springfield Gabriel Nava of Chicopee. The hosts of the party told police that they did not know either of the two men. They were arrested and charged with cruelty to an animal and malicious killing of a domestic animal.
