A 17-year-old boy was charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the death of a friend “table surfing” behind his car in the parking lot at Freedom High School, according to the Northampton County District Attorney.

David Jacob Nagy was “surfing” on an upside-down folding table tied with a rope to the back of a moving car when he was whipped into a parked car and died early June 1 at the parking lot in Bethlehem Township, according to the news release Tuesday from District Attorney Stephen Baratta.

Nagy’s stunt was part of a TikTok challenge, Baratta said.
