Persistence paid off for one Canadian lottery player who just landed his second win after decades of trying his luck.

Donald Sullivan is a retiree from Oakville, Ont., who has been playing the lottery for over three decades. Although there weren’t any big wins, he said he enjoys playing games like Lotario, Lightning Lotto, and, for the past seven years, Poker Lotto.

Sullivan recalled the first time he won Poker Lotto in 2024.

“When I bought my Poker Lotto ticket and hit the Royal Flush, it was beautiful seeing the prize amount. I was shocked and didn’t know how to react,” he said.

On Sept. 20, 2024, he won a Poker Lotto All In jackpot and an instant prize, bringing his total winnings to $99,091.70.
