KENTUCKY. (WSAZ) - A report by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce found Kentucky is short 206,000 homes.

And it’s an issue that’s only expected to grow, which is why lawmakers created the Kentucky Housing Task Force.

To help communities build more housing, lawmakers are considering a low interest loan to governments to cover the costs of roads, water lines, and other infrastructure.

The program is underway in Indiana and industry leaders say it has been successful.

Housing developers say this could really give them a leg up on getting projects started.
