About 481,000 Anker power banks have been recalled due to fire and burn hazards caused by overheating lithium-ion batteries, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced.
The recall affects five specific models manufactured by Anker Innovations Limited of China. The company has received 33 reports of fire and explosion incidents, resulting in four minor burn injuries and one case of substantial property damage.
The recalled power banks include models A1647, A1652, A1257, A1681 and A1689, which were sold at Best Buy, Target and other major retailers nationwide. The devices were also available online through Amazon.com, AliExpress.com, eBay.com, Walmart.com and TikTok from August 2023 through June 2025, priced between $30 and $50.
