A Newburgh man was charged with felony assault following a weekend stabbing at the Super 8 Motel on Route 300.
Town of Newburgh Police said officers responded to the motel at 1287 state Route 300 around 8 a.m. Sept. 21 after they received a report of a man with a cut in his neck.
When they arrived, they found a 40-year-old man, who was not identified further, and provided medical attention.
Town of Newburgh Emergency Medical Services then took him to Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in the City of Newburgh, where he received additional medical attention.
He was last reported to be in stable condition at the hospital.
Town police said their initial investigation determined the victim's injury was a result of an assault with a knife that happened at the motel.
