New locally-owned restaurants and shops are coming to downtown Peoria.

Mayor Jason Beck, Vice Mayor Jennifer Crawford and Councilmember Matt Bullock on Sept. 18 joined the owners of The Churchill and Driftwood Coffee for the groundbreaking celebration for the future site of Jefferson House, on the northwest corner of 83rd Avenue and Jefferson Street.

Jefferson House is scheduled to open in the fall of 2026.

This project will house a mix of food venues, host artisan pop-ups, and serve as a community gathering space for special events.

Additionally, Caldwell County BBQ has been under construction and expects an early 2026 grand opening.
