Jammu & Kashmir: On the second day of the Navratri festival, the worship of Goddess Brahmacharini is performed. In this regard, Jyotishacharya Mahant Rohit Shastri explained that devotees dedicate their minds to the feet of the Mother on this day. The word “Brahm” means penance, and “Charini” means one who practices it. Therefore, Brahmacharini means the goddess who embodies penance.
