Record-setting performances and big showings in key district volleyball matches are among the finalists for the Driscoll Children’s Hospital Caller-Times High School Athlete of the Week.

The Caller-Times is taking weekly nominations and will release a list of finalists for the High School Athlete of the Week each Tuesday.

Students in all varsity sports are eligible and can only be named Athlete of the Week one time per season, per sport, and athletes from one school cannot win more than three consecutive weeks.

John Paul II's Randy Garcia had an all-around game to help the Centurions find the win column. Garcia finished with 22 carries for 167 yards and five touchdowns rushing; was 8 of 14 passing for 130 yards and three touchdowns and added 10 tackles and two pass deflections on defens
