An Edinburgh man has been arrested during a pro-active operation targeting people involved in human trafficking.
A four-figure sum of cash was also seized after a property in Marchmont was searched and inquiries are ongoing. A 49-year-old man has been charged following investigations.
He has since been released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.
Detective Superintendent Stevie Bertram said human trafficking is "despicable" and anyone with information has been urged to come forward.
He added: "Today’s activity is part of an ongoing operation aimed at tackling those who exploit vulnerable members of our communities for their own personal gain.
"Human trafficking is despicable and our commitment to identifying those involved and bringing them to court is unwavering.
