Hideo Kojima has long been regarded as one of the most inventive minds in gaming, but his latest move in the Death Stranding franchise shows he isn’t slowing down anytime soon. At Kojima Productions’ 10th anniversary event, the studio revealed a surprise animated project connected to the Death Stranding universe. Titled Death Stranding Mosquito (working title), the film already has fans buzzing.

While little is known about the story, the announcement, via @KojiPro2015_EN on X, alone demonstrates Kojima’s ability to push boundaries. Rather than confining Death Stranding to just video games, he is opening the door for storytelling that bridges mediums. With a trailer teasing the project’s atmosphere, it is clear that Kojima is experimenting once again, just as he always has.
