The ability of people with mobility challenges to get around Westbank will be examined by a city committee.

First task of the new Accessibility Committee is to review how sidewalks, bus stops, bike lanes, and intersections are navigated by people with mobility challenges.

Options were to conduct the audit across a variety of locations in West Kelowna. But the focus has been narrowed for now just to the Westbank urban centre because it is slated for revitalization.

The study, which will draw on volunteers with mobility challenges, is being conducted by Urban Matters, a consultancy group, for the City of West Kelowna.
