A green card applicant who has lived in the United States for 13 years was detained by immigration agents, his wife has told Newsweek .
Domingo Salas Mota, 34, a Dominican Republic national, was taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement ( ICE ) on June 26, after a traffic stop in Bradenton, Florida, according to his partner.
"The family is in disbelief that this is happening to my husband," Amanda Dorsett told Newsweek .
Newsweek has contacted the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for comment.
