The Conservatives and Pierre Poilievre are pulling ahead of Mark Carney and the Liberals in the latest poll from the Angus Reid Institute. The poll finds the Conservatives with a slight lead nationally as they close the gap with Carney in Ontario.

The change in fortunes comes as the Canadian public gives Carney’s government poor marks on dealing with issues such as housing affordability, immigration, and dealing with Donald Trump. The poll also found only mild support for Carney’s recently announced major projects list, with many feeling it isn’t ambitious enough.

The Angus Reid Institute surveyed 1,570 Canadian adults through an online system between Sept. 19-22. While online polls, even those randomized and weighted to reflect the population can’t have margins of error, the institute
