COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A Smyrna man was convicted of murder in a 2024 shooting, the Cobb County district attorney said Monday, after his fiancée's ankle monitor helped prove his location at the time of the shooting.
According to the DA, 41-year-old Bobby Pegues targeted the victim after an altercation. He had been "told not to come back to the property" but instead went and retrieved a gun to shoot the victim, who was identified only by his first name Tavoris.
A release from Cobb DA Sonya F. Allen's office said police responded on April 28, 2024 to a home on Lorene Drive in unincorporated Cobb County and found the victim with two gunshot wounds outside on his driveway. He died at Wellstar Kennestone.
