In the past, Kevin Gausman has professed his love for Toronto and Canada in different ways.

The foodie scene. The city itself. And his fondness for the fan base.

And now, a little-known slice of his admiration for his work home that extends beyond the Ontario borders.

Gausman’s beer of choice, which per his request is well-stocked in the Blue Jays clubhouse? That would be B.C.’s own, Kokanee.

The affinity for the lager that the Creston, B.C., brewers bill as having a “glacier fresh taste” came from Gausman’s older brother, Brian, who pitched for the Kelowna Falcons back in 2006.

Working the mound for the West Coast League outfit, Brian Gausman finished with a 2-3 record with a 2.61 ERA while striking out 28 over 41.1 innings in 12 appearances.
