VERSAILLES, Mo. -- Authorities say a suspect is now in custody in the shooting of a woman in Versailles on Monday, Sept. 22.

According to a statement from Morgan County Prosecuting Attorney Dustin Dunklee, a suspect in the shooting investigation was arrested in Miller County at approximately 6 p.m. Monday.

At around 7:34 a.m. Monday, Versailles police located an unconscious female in the 100 block of South Burke Street with a serious head wound, VPD says. She was taken to the hospital, where she is in critical condition.

Dunklee says that pursuant to Missouri Supreme Court Rule 4-3.6 regarding trial publicity, neither the Prosecutor's Office nor the Versailles Police Department can release any additional information at this time.
