AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Monday, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Texas announced the conviction of a woman from Lockhart for her role in the smuggling of 53 undocumented immigrants.
Temple Ordaz-Alvarado, 50, was a "leader, organizer and stash house operator" who transported 53 undocumented immigrants from Eagle Pass, Texas, to San Antonio, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Ordaz-Alvarado pled guilty to a conspiracy charge on Aug. 12, 2024, according to the release. She was sentenced to serve 60 months in federal prison.
The release also states that Ordaz-Alvarado worked with Honduran national Erin Gutierrez-Maradiaga, who was convicted in March and sentenced to 76 months in prison.
