MARTINSBURG -- Some of the earliest memories 86-year-old Martinsburg resident Sylvia Kesecker can recall are of her mother bringing her to church, in the same place where she herself and her sister had grown up attending. Kesecker then kept up the tradition, many years later, when she began bringing her young son to her mother's church, Christ Reformed United Church of Christ (CRUCC) in Martinsburg.

To this day, Kesecker remains one of the church's faithful members and regularly helps out with its free community dinner every Thursday, which is held from 5-6 p.m.

"One of my favorite things to do, is to help with this dinner," Kesecker said, mentioning that, at the dinner, she typically helps serve dessert to those in need. "It's always nice to be able to do something good for others, espe
