A proposal to create a shuttle service from popular venues in Glasgow has been made to the council after cars and buses were revealed to be the city’s biggest polluters.

During Tuesday's net zero committee councillor Stephen Docherty asked officers if it would be possible to create a shuttle service from sites like the Hydro and Hampden to encourage people to use public transport rather than rely on their cars.

It comes after a report showed that people’s homes were the second biggest polluter followed by the commercial sector which had the third highest source of CO2 emissions in the city.

Glasgow City Council has been trying to tackle climate change through a number of measures including installing solar panels on public buildings, adding more cycle lanes and introducing the LEZ
