SHAMOKIN DAM — Dozens of young cows were killed in an early morning crash along Route 15 in Snyder County, officials said Tuesday afternoon.

A truck driver traveling south fell asleep while hauling a cattle trailer with 106 calves crashed, sending the trailer down a 20-foot embankment just north of the Route 11/15 split, Shamokin Dam Fire Chief John Shirk said.
