EL PASO, Ill. (WMBD) -- A man has been arrested after allegedly trying to travel to meet what he thought was a 15-year-old girl, authorities say.

Members of the Woodford County Sheriff's Office's Pro-Active unit arrested Ottis D. Harrell, 45, of Benson, on Monday.

He was booked in the Woodford County Jail on charges of indecent solicitation of a child, indecent solicitation of a child using the internet, traveling to meet a minor and grooming, said Chief Deputy Dennis Tipsword.

He said that Harrell was allegedly traveling to the El Paso area to meet a minor he had met on the internet and who he believed to be a 15-year-old girl. When he arrived, however, members of the county's sheriff's office were there to arrest him.

The investigation was spearheaded by the office's "predator team,"
