A detention hearing for an actor from Port Republic who allegedly shot a woman in the face during a road rage incident near Stockton University was postponed until Thursday after he retained a new attorney, court records show.

Ernest Heinz, 46, is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Heinz was first represented by Mercer County-based William E. Wackowski, but attorney Robin Lord has since taken the case, records show. This is the second time the hearing has been moved.

Galloway Township police responded to a call for a shooting near Jimmie Leeds Road and Redwood Avenue at 12:52 p.m. Sept. 11. The intersection is across from the main entrance to the school.
