Have you upgraded your Mac to macOS Tahoe yet ? If you have, then you probably have experienced one of my most hated features that has been turned on by default: show colour in tab bar.

Not sure what Apple’s Safari team was thinking, but this terrible feature will match your tabs and favourites to the same colour on certain websites. When this happens it basically turns your bookmarks and tabs useless as the colours match and things get confusing. Apple, why?

How to turn off this Safari tab bar colour matching feature? It’s easy and it will feel so good once it’s done.

With Safari open, head to Safari in the upper menu, then to Settings > Tabs > Appearance > Untick ‘Show color in tab bar’. Here’s a screenshot of where it is:
