One of the Nebraska football team's longest-standing 2026 commits won't be heading to Lincoln after all.
Sioux Falls (South Dakota) Washington wide receiver Dveyoun Bonwell-Witte announced he was decommitting from NU on Tuesday, writing on social media: " After much thought and prayerful consideration, I’ve decided to reopen my recruitment."
Bonwell-Witte's decommitment leaves an already-small 2026 Husker recruiting class with just 11 members, though the writing had been on the wall since Nebraska retooled its offensive coaching staff during the offseason.
An under-the-radar three-star prospect, Bonwell-Witte earned a Nebraska scholarship offer at a team camp last summer and committed to the program in October 2024.
