Michigan’s top Republican in Washington is concerned that U.S. Rep. John James’ decision to run for governor instead of reelection could jeopardize the GOP’s hold on the seat and narrow majority in the chamber.
In an interview with The Washington Examiner , U.S. Rep. Lisa McClain, R-Bruce Township, said James’ decision to leave the 10th District seat open was “100% not ideal.” When asked if James was jeopardizing the seat, she responded “absolutely.”
“That’s an understatement to say that it’s not ideal,” she told The Washington Examiner. “We have some really good candidates that are either in the race or talking about being in the race, so I’m confident that we will be able to keep that seat. It’s just gonna take a lot of resources.”
