Unai Emery is under enormous pressure following Aston Villa’s shocking start to the season and has just lost a key ally at the club.

Monchi, Villa’s president of football operations, surprisingly stepped down on Monday night and is due to be replaced by Roberto Olabe.

The 57-year-old was especially close with Emery, with the pair working together at Sevilla to win three consecutive Europa League titles from 2014 to 2016.
