Measles has now spread into a previously untouched portion of northern Utah, the Department of Health and Human Services announced through its measles-response website .
As of Tuesday, the department reported 36 confirmed cases in Utah, most located in the southwestern part of the state and smaller swath in central Utah. But one reported infection in the Bear River Health Department district, which encompasses Box Elder, Cache and Rich counties, shows the highly contagious disease has spread north months after the outbreak began.
Officials say people in the area may have been exposed to the virus at the Chick-fil-A off of State Road 165 in Providence, in Cache County, if they were there between 6:30-9 p.m. on Sep. 11. Those at the Budge Clinic, 1350 N 500 East in Logan, between 3-6:30
