If you're going to dedicate 30 minutes to a cardio workout , you likely want to get the biggest bang for your buck. And that often means tracking how many calories you burn during a session.

It's important to remember that calories burned is just one way to gauge the effectiveness of a workout. Other factors like improving endurance , building strength and increasing your heart rate are other (often better!) signs that you’ve had a good workout.

And while many people assume that a cardio-heavy workout routine is the best way to lose weight, I actually suggest a cardio and strength training combination. This will build muscle , which boosts your metabolism and allows you to burn more calories and fat after your workout is done and even while you’re resting.
