CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A Tri-State nonprofit is seeing more and more empty shelves as it faces a growing need for its services.
Maureen Flanagan, coordinator for NEEDS, said they cannot keep up with this volume of need.
The nonprofit food pantry has become accustomed to serving 30 families a day, according to Flanagan.
The number of families needing NEEDS services today is a vast jump from what the nonprofit once saw.
“The economy has been, you know, food prices have been going up, the federal amount of assistance has been going down, and it’s kind of a crunch in the middle,” Flanagan said.
