NEW ORLEANS — Instead of cabs and car services dropping off and picking up hotel guests, there were police cars outside Homewood Suites on N. Rampart Street in New Orleans Tuesday afternoon.

“Investigators are looking for evidence and looking for the leads,” said NOPD’s Director of Communications, Officer Reese Harper as police began the investigation.

Harper hopes evidence and leads point police to the person responsible for killing a 73-year-old man in one of the hotel rooms. Reese says the man was found unresponsive by house cleaning staff.

“First district officers arrived on the scene and located a male unresponsive,” said Harper. Emergency medical technicians arrived on the scene and pronounced the man dead.”
