The MSPCA searched a Plympton home with the help of local police on Tuesday as part of an animal cruelty investigation, according to the animal welfare non-profit.
Plympton police and the MSPCA investigated “an incident” on Lake Street, the police department wrote on Facebook at noon . Police noted that there was no threat to the public, but asked that people avoid the area.
The investigation took place at 34 Lake St., behind which several animal pens, chicken coops and sheds could be seen, WCVB reported . A variety of livestock birds, including chickens, ducks and turkeys, also appeared to be housed outside the home.
Officers could be seen putting many of the birds into animal carriers, WCVB reported. The animals were then loaded into a trailer from the MSPCA’s Nevins Farm.
