We're looking at warm highs in the low 80s, with a muggy feel. That warmth and humidity sets the stage for isolated thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.

These rain chances begin a stretch of on and off rain through Friday morning. The wettest day looks to be Thursday, as soaking rain across the region comes in the early morning with lingering rumbles of thunder into early Thursday morning.

When all is said and done, some spots could see over 3 inches of rain, with most receiving 1-2 inches of rain. This is good for abnormally dry conditions and will likely keep the drought from worsening
