MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Murfreesboro Police Department released details about an investigation that led to 33 indictments following a man’s overdose death in 2023.

Police said the nearly two-year investigation involving illegal drugs, gang activity, and guns led to the indictments.

Officers, detectives, and agents from several law enforcement agencies began working together after a Mufreesboro man’s death in November 2023. In early 2024, investigators identified multiple suppliers connected to the death.

“Officers executed residential search warrants in Murfreesboro, confiscating large quantities of fentanyl powder and pills,” MPD said.
