Jammu, Sept 23: The Jammu and Kashmir Congress on Tuesday accused the Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government of burdening the common man for the past eight years through a complex GST regime comprising nine different tax slabs, collecting over 55 lakh crores in revenue.

Addressing a press conference in Jammu, senior Congress leaders including Working President Raman Bhalla, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, Chief Media Coordinator Neeraj Gupta, and others said the Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi aptly termed it the “Gabbar Singh Tax” due to the “oppressive nature” of its system.
