The three-day Maumee Film Festival kicks off Friday with a special screening of Dumb & Dumber with actors Fred Stoller and Robert Carradine as special guests, festival organizers said.

The weekend includes film screenings, workshops and panels, networking opportunities, and appearances from TV and film actors, said Sara M. Eiden, supervisor of theater operations for the Maumee Indoor Theater.

More than 70 films will be shown at the theater, 601 Conant St., Maumee, including short films by students, movies based in and around Ohio, national and international films, and feature-length productions. The winners of the 48-Hour Film Challenge will also be announced.

Three levels of film festival passes are available: $20 for a single day pass, $30 for Saturday and Sunday screenings, workshops
