A motorcyclist died following a collision with another vehicle in San Jose over the weekend, police said Tuesday.

Officers responded at 12:19 a.m. Saturday to a crash reported between a motorcycle and vehicle in the area of Ocala Avenue and Ridgemont Drive, according to San Jose police.

Investigators determined a man riding a 2024 Kawasaki Ninja was heading east on Ocala when he collided with a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica driven by a woman who was turning left from Ridgemont, police said.

The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital and later succumbed to his injuries. He has been identified by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner's Office as 24-year-old San Jose resident Matthew Atangan.
