HOLLYWOOD -- A man who taught a generation that science and math can be fun is the latest to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Bill Nye was honored during a ceremony Monday as his star was unveiled.
Nye went from being an engineer at Boeing to hosting his Emmy-winning TV show "Bill Nye the Science Guy."
"All of my work... OK, maybe almost all of my work is the celebration of the PB & J - the passion, beauty and joy of science," Nye said. "Thank you all so much. Let's change the world!"
Among those who joined him for the ceremony was actor Joel McHale, NBA star Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics and comedian Ross Shafer.
Since 2010, Nye has also been CEO of The Planetary Society, a science-based organization co-founded by Carl Sagan.
