Police identified the man killed in a shooting in a Southeast Portland bar early Thursday morning as 45-year-old Garvin Franklin Jr.
Brandon Lewis, 37, is accused of second-degree murder, second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon in the shooting, which took place around 2 a.m. at Buddy’s Lounge on Southeast 82nd Avenue and Harrison Street.
Court records say Lewis fired multiple gunshots inside the bar after the two men argued. A bar patron told police he believed Franklin was the aggressor, a probable cause affidavit said.
The bartender working that night said he had seen the two men and later heard yelling and multiple shots. Another man playing video poker inside the bar was shot in the leg and sent to the hospital, the affidavit said.
