HUNTSVILLE, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety laid one of their own to rest on Tuesday, Sept. 23, Trooper Jerry Wayne Adamick Jr.

Adamick died in a crash in San Jacinto County while traveling to assist law enforcement on Sept. 15.

A funeral service was held for Adamick at Northside Baptist Church in Huntsville on Sept. 23. Texas DPS said hundreds gathered to pay their respects, including friends, family and colleagues.

Community members and fellow law enforcement agencies also lined the roads to pay respects to Adamick as he was escorted from Beaumont to Huntsville on Sept. 17, waving American flags and saluting as the procession passed by.
