AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - One person was killed in a shooting Tuesday afternoon at Augusta Mall, and two suspects were still on the loose.
An hour and a half after the shooting – which by far isn’t the mall’s first – some store employees were still hiding as deputies went from store by store.
And with two suspects out there somewhere, authorities were checking vehicles as they left the mall.
Sheriff Eugene Brantley pointed out that even though it was initially reported as an active shooter, it was more of a fight that spilled into the mall.
He said about six people were involved in the incident that was reported around 1:15 p.m.
