CHESTNUT HILL — Boston College coach Bill O’Brien was asked after practice on Tuesday what the team worked on over the bye week.

O’Brien responded with a laundry list of basics on both sides of the ball and all of them seemed relevant in the aftermath of two disheartening losses.

“Tackling, ball security, place kicking, punting, blocking, catching the football, making good coverage reads and good communication on defense and good operation on offense,” said O’Brien.

“Any mistake we see we correct it. We’ve got some injuries and that is going to be the case all the way. We are not 100 percent healthy but that’s what it is. Other guys have to step up and play.”
